From Durham city centre, walk to the Durham Bus Station located on Mill Road. Take the bus service 685 towards Hexham. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the 'Hexham, Bus Station' stop. From there, walk towards Beaumont Street, which is about a 10-minute walk. Head southwest on Market Place towards Priestpopple, then turn left onto Beaumont Street. Hexham Abbey will be on your left.

From Durham Train Station, purchase a ticket to Hexham at the ticket office or machine. Board a train heading towards Carlisle; this typically takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Hexham Station, exit the station and turn left onto Station Road. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout and take the second exit onto Beaumont Street. Hexham Abbey will be on your right after a 15-minute walk.

If you are already in Hexham, you can walk to Hexham Abbey from the town centre. Head southwest on Market Place towards Priestpopple, then turn left onto Beaumont Street. Continue walking straight; Hexham Abbey will be located on your left-hand side after a short walk.
