Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Edinburgh Waverley Station, exit the station and head towards the main road, Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and walk towards the Scott Monument, which you will see on your right. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Princes Street. Cross over to Princes Street and head towards the east end, keeping the Scott Monument on your left. From Princes Street, turn right onto St Andrew Square. The Melville Monument is located at the center of St Andrew Square, at 42 St Andrew Square, EH2 2AD. It should be easily visible as you approach.

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Royal Mile, head down the Royal Mile towards North Bridge. Cross over North Bridge and continue straight until you reach the junction with South Bridge. Turn left onto South Bridge and then immediately right onto Nicholson Street. Keep walking until you reach the Meadows. Walk along the edge of the Meadows towards the east and then continue onto Bruntsfield Place. Eventually, turn right onto Lothian Road and then left onto Earl Grey Street. Follow Earl Grey Street until it merges into St Andrew Square. The Melville Monument will be in the square.

    Start from any location in the city center and board a bus that heads towards St Andrew Square. Lothian Buses number 3, 8, 10, 11, or 27 will take you directly there.
