If you are starting from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, exit the station and head northwest towards Princes Street. Once you reach Princes Street, turn left and walk along the street until you reach North Bridge. Cross over North Bridge, and as you walk up the hill, you will come to the intersection with South Bridge. Continue straight onto the High Street (Royal Mile). Follow the High Street until you reach the junction with Canongate. Turn right onto Canongate and continue until you reach the entrance of Calton Hill, which will be on your left.

From the Scottish Parliament, exit the building and walk down Horse Wynd. Take a left onto Canongate and continue walking until you see the entrance to Calton Hill on your right, just past the intersection with Abbeyhill.
