If you are traveling by car, start from Stornoway, the largest town on the Isle of Lewis. Take the A857 road heading north towards the village of Barvas. Continue on the A857 until you reach the junction for the A859, then turn onto the A859 towards Ness. Follow the A859 for approximately 15 miles, enjoying the scenic views of the countryside along the way. Once you reach the village of Ness, look for signs directing you to Port of Ness. The slipway and breakwater will be located at the end of the road, with parking available nearby.

For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Stornoway to Ness. The bus service is operated by the Western Isles Council and typically runs several times a day. Check the latest timetable for the exact schedule. Upon arriving in Ness, you will need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach Port of Ness Slipway and Breakwater. Follow the main road towards the coast, and you will see the slipway and breakwater ahead. Make sure to have change for the bus fare, which is usually around £3-£4.
