Aros Park, located just outside Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, is a verdant woodland sanctuary that features the enchanting Aros Waterfall. Aros Park was once part of the Aros estate, owned by the Allan family from the late 19th century until the mid-20th century. Though the original estate house no longer stands, remnants such as the old mill, generator shed, and an artificial lochan remain. The lochan was created by damming the Aros Burn to provide power for the mill and now serves as a peaceful focal point surrounded by beech, cypress, and oak trees. This blend of natural and historical elements enriches the park’s character and offers visitors insight into the local heritage.

Diverse Trails and Recreational Opportunities

Beyond the waterfalls, Aros Park features several well-maintained trails suitable for various abilities. The Lochan Trail is a gentle, mostly flat gravel path circling the lochan, accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs, ideal for a peaceful stroll. The waterfalls trail includes some steep and uneven sections, with rocky and sometimes boggy terrain, requiring careful footing especially after rain.
