Getting There

    From Kirkcudbright town center, head south on St Mary Street/A755 towards the A75. Continue on A755 until you reach the A75. Turn left onto the A75 and continue for approximately 6 miles. Take the exit towards A762, then at the roundabout, take the first exit onto A762 and follow the signs for Brighouse Bay. After approximately 2 miles, you will arrive at Brighouse Bay. There is parking available on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    From Kirkcudbright, take the bus service to Castle Douglas. Board the bus at the Kirkcudbright Bus Station. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once in Castle Douglas, transfer to the bus heading towards Stranraer. Make sure to check the local bus schedules for the exact times. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop for Brighouse Bay. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the beach area. Please note that bus fares vary; expect to pay around £4-£6 for the full journey.
