Car
From Dumfries, head northwest on the A75 towards Annan. Continue on the A75 until you reach the junction with the A596 in Annan. Take the A596 towards Maryport. After about 15 miles, merge onto the B5300. Follow the B5300 until you reach Milefortlet 21, located at B5300, Maryport CA15 6SL. There is free parking available near the site.

From Dumfries, take a train from Dumfries rail station to Carlisle. From Carlisle, board a train to Maryport. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Maryport Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby bus stop. Take the bus on the number 300 route towards Workington. Get off at the stop closest to B5300. From there, it is a short walk to Milefortlet 21. Be sure to check local bus schedules as they may vary.

If you are already in Maryport, you can walk to Milefortlet 21. Starting from the Maryport town center, head northwest on the B5300. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and will take about 30-40 minutes. Follow signs towards the coast, and you will reach the archaeological site located directly off the B5300.
