Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Keswick, take the A66 toward Cockermouth. Merge onto the A595 and follow signs for Barrow-in-Furness. Once you reach Barrow-in-Furness, follow the A590 towards the town center. Look for signs directing you to Manor Road, where Furness Abbey is located. There is parking available nearby, which may incur a small fee. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.

  For those using public transportation, the nearest train station is Barrow-in-Furness. You can take a train from major cities such as Manchester or Lancaster. Once you arrive at Barrow-in-Furness station, you can either walk to Furness Abbey, which takes about 25 minutes (1.2 miles), or catch a local bus. If you choose the bus, look for routes heading towards the town center that stop near Manor Road. Bus fares vary, but expect to pay around £2-£4 for a single journey.
