At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A965 towards Kirkwall. Drive for approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) until you see signs for Unstan Chambered Cairn. Turn left onto Unstan Road and follow it for about 0.5 miles (0.8 km). You will find the cairn on your right, with a small parking area available.

To reach Unstan Chambered Cairn by public transport, start by taking a bus from Kirkwall to Stromness. The bus service is operated by Stagecoach, and you can check the timetable for the most suitable route. Once you arrive in Stromness, you can either walk (around 30 minutes) or take a taxi to the cairn. If walking, head east on the A965, then turn left onto Unstan Road, where you will find the cairn approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) down the road.

Continue walking along the A965 for about 2.5 miles (4 km) before taking a left onto Unstan Road. The cairn is a short distance down this road on your right.
