    From York city centre, head to the York Railway Station and take the Arriva 31 or 32 bus towards Helmsley. The bus will take you through beautiful countryside and the journey takes approximately 1 hour. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance for the latest timings. Get off at the 'Helmsley' stop, which is the closest to Howardian Hills National Landscape.

  • Walking from Helmsley

    After disembarking at the Helmsley bus stop, walk towards the town centre. Head to Bondgate, where you will find The Old Vicarage. The Howardian Hills National Landscape is located here. Follow the signs for the landscape, and it should take you about 15-20 minutes on foot from the bus stop.

  • Combination of Train and Bus

    Alternatively, you can take a train from York to Malton. Once you arrive at Malton station, take the bus (Arriva 31 or 32) towards Helmsley. The bus journey from Malton to Helmsley takes about 30 minutes. Then follow the same walking directions provided above to reach the Howardian Hills National Landscape.
