Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards York city center. Use the A64 road if coming from the south or the A19 if coming from the north. Once in York, follow signs for the city center and then for 'Theatre Royal'. You can park at the nearby NCP car park located on Tanner Row (postcode YO1 6JP), which is about a 10-minute walk from the theatre. Be aware that parking fees apply, usually around £2.50 for up to 1 hour, and £5.00 for 2 hours.

• Train

  If you are using public transportation, take a train to York railway station, which is well connected to major cities in the UK. Upon arrival at York station, exit the station and head towards the city center. It's about a 15-minute walk to York Theatre Royal. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from the station to the city center; the number 1 or 5 buses regularly run and stop near the theatre. A single bus fare is approximately £1.50.

• Bus

  For those already in York or nearby areas, local buses are a convenient option. Check the bus schedules for services running to the city center. The theatre is located near the bus stops on St Leonard's Place. Bus fares typically range from £1.00 to £2.00 depending on the distance.

• Walking

  If you are already in the city center, York Theatre Royal is easily accessible by walking. The theatre is located at St Leonard's Place, YO1 7HD. From the Minster, it is about a 10-minute walk. Just head down Duncombe Place, continue onto St Leonard's Place, and you will see the theatre on your left.
