If you are driving, start on the M37 highway towards Samarkand. From Zarafshan, follow the signs for Samarkand. As you approach Samarkand, take the exit toward Tashkent Rd. Continue on Tashkent Rd for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for the Observatory of Ulugbek. There is parking available near the observatory.

To reach the Observatory of Ulugbek by public transport, take a shared taxi or minibus (marshrutka) from Zarafshan to Samarkand. The journey typically takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Samarkand, you can either take a local taxi or use a ride-hailing app to get to Tashkent Rd. The observatory is about 10 kilometers from the city center. Expect to pay around 10,000 UZS for the shared taxi and about 20,000 UZS for the local taxi to the observatory.
