Getting There

  • Walking

    Exit St. Peter's Basilica through the main entrance and proceed towards the right side of the basilica. Walk along Via della Conciliazione, which leads you away from the Vatican. Continue straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge, and once you are on the other side, continue straight. After crossing, turn left onto Via di Monte Giordano. Continue walking until you reach Piazza Navona. From there, take Via dei Coronari and follow it to Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina. Turn right onto Via del Corso and continue until you reach Via dei Plebiscito. Finally, turn left onto Via di San Marco, and you will find yourself at Piazza del Campidoglio, where the Capitoline Museums are located.

    Exit St. Peter's Basilica and head towards the bus stop located at Piazza San Pietro. Take bus number 40 or 64 towards Termini. Ride the bus for about 10-15 minutes and get off at the stop called 'Piazza Venezia'. From there, you can walk to Piazza del Campidoglio by heading west on Via del Corso, then turning left onto Via di San Marco, which will lead you directly to the museums.
