From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head southwest towards the exit. Once you reach the main road, turn left onto Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight, passing through the square in front of St. Peter's Basilica. Keep walking until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge, and follow the road leading to Piazza di San Luigi de' Francesi, which is located in the historic center of Rome.

Exit the Vatican Gardens and head towards the nearest bus stop along Via Gregorio VII. Take bus line 81 or 87 towards 'Piazza Venezia' and get off at the 'Piazza Navona' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Piazza di San Luigi de' Francesi. Head northeast on Via Agonale, continue straight until you reach the square.
