From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head towards the main pathway leading to St. Peter's Basilica. Walk straight until you reach the grand staircase that leads up to the Basilica. Once you are at the base of the staircase, turn right and walk along the side of the Basilica, following the path until you see a small archway entrance on your left. This archway leads to the Excavation Office, located beneath St. Peter's Basilica.
