If you are driving from Tam Dao, start by heading south on the main road towards Highway 2A. Once you reach Highway 2A, turn right and continue to follow the road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the Phu Tho intersection. At the intersection, take a left turn onto National Route 32 and continue driving towards Hanoi. Follow signs for Ba Dinh District. After about 50 kilometers, you will arrive at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long located at 19c Hoàng Diệu, Điện Biên, Ba Đình, Hà Nội. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared to pay a small fee (approximately 20,000 - 30,000 VND).

Public Transportation
To reach the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long by public transport from Tam Dao, start by taking a local bus from Tam Dao to Vinh Phuc City. Buses depart regularly, and the fare is around 30,000 - 40,000 VND. Once you arrive in Vinh Phuc, transfer to a bus heading to Hanoi (bus fare about 50,000 VND). Upon arriving at Giap Bat Bus Station in Hanoi, you can take a taxi or a Grab to the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long for about 50,000 - 70,000 VND. Alternatively, from Giap Bat, you can take bus number 22 or 32, which will drop you off near the Citadel.
