Getting There

• Car

  From the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, head southeast toward US-13 S. Merge onto US-13 S and follow it for approximately 15 miles. Take the exit onto I-64 E toward Norfolk. After about 5 miles, keep left to stay on I-64 E, following signs for US-460 E. Continue on I-64 E for about 10 miles. Take exit 289B for US- Chesapeake toward US-17 S/US-460 E. Merge onto US-17 S and stay in the right lane to merge onto I-464 S. Continue on I-464 S for about 5 miles, then take exit 1A toward Cedar Road/Chesapeake. Merge onto Cedar Road and follow it for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Elizabeth River Way, and you will find Elizabeth River Park at 1400 Elizabeth River Way, Chesapeake, VA 23324.

  To reach Elizabeth River Park via public transportation from the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, first, you need to get to the nearest bus stop. The closest options are located at the intersection of US-13 and US-460. Take a taxi or rideshare service to that location. Once at the bus stop, board the Hampton Roads Transit Bus Route 45 towards Chesapeake. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, and get off at the 'Elizabeth River Way' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the park, located at 1400 Elizabeth River Way, Chesapeake, VA 23324.
