If you're starting from the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, head south on VA-16 S toward US-58 E. Follow VA-16 S for approximately 22 miles. Take a slight left onto US-58 E and continue for about 15 miles. Turn right onto NC-18 S (Traphill Road) and follow it for about 3 miles. Doughton Recreation Area will be on your left.
