Car
From Northern Neck, head south on VA-3 S towards the town of Kilmarnock. Continue on VA-3 S for approximately 20 miles until you reach the town of Tappahannock. Merge onto US-17 S and follow it for about 30 miles, which will take you directly into Richmond. As you approach Richmond, take the Broad St exit towards US-33 E. Follow Broad St until you reach 9th St, then turn left. The Virginia State Capitol will be on your right at 1000 Bank St. Parking may be available nearby but may incur costs, typically around $1.50 - $2.00 per hour.

Public Transportation
First, you will need to get to the nearest bus station in Northern Neck. You can catch a Greyhound or Megabus service from there to Richmond. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary. Once you arrive at the Richmond bus station, you can take the local GRTC Pulse bus service. Board the Pulse at the nearest stop and travel towards the Main St Station. Get off at the 9th St stop and walk a short distance to reach the Virginia State Capitol at 1000 Bank St. Expect to pay approximately $15-30 for the bus ticket depending on the service and timing.
