Walking
From the center of Old Southwest, head northeast on 5th St SW toward Marshall Ave SW. Continue straight onto 4th St SW, then turn left onto Campbell Ave SW. Walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 9th St SW. Turn right onto 9th St SW and continue walking until you reach the entrance of the path leading up to Stewart Knob. The path is located just behind the houses on the right side, look for a small sign indicating the trail entrance.

Biking
If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from a local bike-sharing service in Old Southwest. Start at the nearest bike station and head northeast on 5th St SW. Continue to follow the previous walking directions, but you can cycle along 4th St SW and Campbell Ave SW, which are more bike-friendly. Once you reach 9th St SW, park your bike at the designated bike rack near the entrance to the trail and proceed on foot to reach Stewart Knob.

Take the Roanoke Valley Metro Bus service from any nearby bus stop in Old Southwest. Board the bus route that heads towards the downtown area and get off at the Campbell Ave SW stop. From there, walk east on Campbell Ave SW until you reach 9th St SW. Turn right and follow the walking directions to Stewart Knob. Check the current bus schedule for any fares which typically range from $1 to $2.
