Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From downtown Beckley, head to the nearest bus stop located at the Beckley Intermodal Transportation Facility on 1st Street. Board the Raleigh County Public Transit bus heading toward the New River Gorge area. The bus will take you along Route 19. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve stop. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the visitor center and enjoy the park.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Start from the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine located in the city center. Rent a bicycle from a local rental shop. Head north on 3rd Avenue and take a left onto Neville Street. Continue on this road until you reach Route 19. Follow the bike lane on Route 19 towards the New River Gorge National Park. The ride is around 10 miles and takes about an hour. Once you reach the park, look for the visitor center signs.
