Car
If you're driving in the Coulee Region, begin your journey from downtown La Crosse, WI. Head south on US-53 S for about 2 miles, then merge onto I-90 E. After approximately 15 miles, take exit 3 for WI-35 S toward Genoa. Continue on WI-35 S for about 20 miles. As you approach Greenfield, turn left onto County Rd F. After about 1 mile, you’ll find Wisconsin State Historical Marker 209 located at the intersection of County Rd F and WI-35 S. Parking is available along the roadside.

For those using public transportation, start at the La Crosse Amtrak station. Board the Greyhound Bus heading towards Genoa. The bus will drop you off at the nearest stop to Greenfield. After disembarking, you can walk approximately 2 miles south along WI-35 S. Alternatively, you could use local ride-sharing services or taxis from the bus station to reach the marker directly.

If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle in the Coulee Region area. Start from La Crosse and take the La Crosse River State Trail heading south. Follow the trail until it connects with WI-35 S. Continue south on WI-35 S for approximately 20 miles. Once you reach Greenfield, look for County Rd F, where the marker is located. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations.
