If you are starting from Buffalo, WY, take State Highway 16 (also known as the Cloud Peak Skyway) west from the city. Continue on this highway for approximately 25 miles. Look for the signs for the Cloud Peak Wilderness area, which will direct you to Forest Service Road 25. Turn right onto this road and continue for another 4 miles until you reach the Cloud Peak Wilderness trailheads. Please note that the road may be gravel in some sections, so drive carefully.

If you are traveling by public transportation, take a Greyhound bus or a regional shuttle service to Buffalo, WY. From Buffalo, you will need to rent a car to reach Cloud Peak Wilderness. Follow the same directions as above to get to the wilderness area. Rental car services are available in Buffalo, and prices vary, so it’s advisable to book in advance.
