Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Mutare city center. Head southwest on Main Street (A3 road) and continue for approximately 5 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating the turn-off towards Cross Kopje, which is located at the coordinates 2MCX+G4G. Follow this road, which will lead you up the hill towards Cross Kopje. The road may be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. The total travel time is around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public Transport

To reach Cross Kopje via public transport, take a shared taxi or minibus from the Mutare main bus station that is headed towards the Eastern Highlands. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Cross Kopje turn-off. The fare typically ranges from ZWL 50 to ZWL 100 per person. Once you reach the turn-off, you may need to walk up the hill for about 1 kilometer to reach the viewpoint. Be prepared for a steep walk, and wear comfortable shoes.
