Getting There

  • Public Bus

    Start at the nearest bus stop to your location in Huntsville. Take the Route 1 bus towards the Huntsville Depot. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of US-431 and Bailey Cove Rd. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the J.D. & Annie S. Hays Nature Preserve. Head southeast on US-431, following the road until you see the entrance to the preserve on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you have a bicycle, you can ride to the J.D. & Annie S. Hays Nature Preserve. Start from the downtown area of Huntsville, heading south on Church St SW. Continue onto the Huntsville Greenway, following the path that leads towards US-431. Once you reach US-431, carefully cross the road and continue to ride south until you reach the preserve entrance, which will be on your right.

  • Walking

    If you are close enough to walk, begin from the nearest landmark, such as the Huntsville Museum of Art. Head south on Church St SW towards US-431. After approximately 1.7 miles, turn right onto US-431 and continue walking for about 1 mile. The entrance to J.D. & Annie S. Hays Nature Preserve will be on your right.
