Getting There

  From Monte Sano State Park, head south on Monte Sano Blvd toward Governors Dr SE. Continue on this road which turns into Mountain Mist Trail. Follow the signs to AL-65 S (Cecil Ashburn Dr SE) and merge onto AL-65 S. Continue for approximately 4 miles. Merge onto US-431 S and continue for about 3 miles. Take the exit for Four Mile Post Rd SE. Turn right onto Four Mile Post Rd SE. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach Jones Farm Park on your left.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Monte Sano State Park to downtown Huntsville first. Use the local transit service (e.g., Huntsville Public Transit) to find the nearest bus stop. From downtown, transfer to Bus Route 20, which heads towards Four Mile Post Rd SE. Disembark at the closest stop to Jones Farm Park. Note that bus schedules may vary, and it’s advisable to check the transit website for the latest timings.   For those who prefer cycling, start from Monte Sano State Park and ride down Monte Sano Blvd. Follow the same route as if you were driving, taking Mountain Mist Trail to AL-65 S. Continue to US-431 S, where you can ride safely along the roadside to Four Mile Post Rd SE. Be cautious of traffic and wear a helmet. The total distance is approximately 8 miles, which is a comfortable ride for most cyclists.

• Walking

  Walking to Jones Farm Park from Monte Sano State Park is a long trek, approximately 8 miles one way. For those who are adventurous and fit, you would follow the same route as by car, walking along Monte Sano Blvd and then down AL-65 S to US-431 S, eventually reaching Four Mile Post Rd SE. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and take plenty of water, as this will be a strenuous walk and may take several hours. Note: This option is not recommended for families with small children or those who are not physically prepared for such a distance.
