Walking
From Gjirokastra's Old Bazaar, head uphill on Rruga Evlia Celebi. The walk is steep and cobbled, so wear comfortable shoes. Follow the signs towards the Clock Tower, which is visible from most points in the Old Town. The castle entrance is a short distance past the Clock Tower.

Public Transport
Local buses connect the new town with the old town. Take the bus that goes to the Old Town and get off at the stop closest to the bazaar. From there, follow the walking directions. A single bus fare is around 30 LEK.

Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Gjirokastra. Ask the driver to take you to the entrance of Gjirokastra Castle. The fare from the new town to the castle should be between 300-500 LEK. Be sure to agree on the price before starting your journey.

Driving
From the main road, follow signs to Gjirokastra's Old Town. Be aware that the roads leading to the castle are narrow and steep. Limited free parking is available near the castle entrance, but it can be challenging to find a spot. Consider parking in the underground parking garage near Çerçiz Square in the New Town for approximately €2 for 3 hours and walking up.
