Getting There

  • Walking

    From Theth, begin your journey towards Nderlysaj village, roughly 6 km south. Follow the dirt road, an easy downhill path that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Nderlysaj, continue on foot for approximately 3 km (1.9 miles) along a rocky trail with river crossings and wooden bridges. This final stretch takes about 1 hour and leads directly to the Blue Eye. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and follow the red and white trail markers. There are cafes in Nderlysaj where you can stop for refreshments.

  • Public Transport

    From Shkodra, take a bus to Theth. Keep in mind that the bus to Theth leaves Shkoder at 7 AM and takes around 3 hours. Once in Theth, you can either hike to Nderlysaj or take a local minibus. The minibus to Nderlysaj costs around 5 EUR per person one way. From Nderlysaj, it is still necessary to hike the remaining 3km to the Blue Eye. Minibuses typically depart every hour, but may wait until full.

  • Taxi

    From Theth, hire a 4x4 taxi to Nderlysaj. This should cost around 5000 Lek (50 EUR) for a return trip, including wait time. The taxi ride to Nderlysaj takes about 15-20 minutes. From Nderlysaj, it is still necessary to hike the remaining 3km to the Blue Eye. Alternatively, a taxi directly to the Blue Eye from Luma will cost approximately 1,000 to 1,200 ALL.
