Getting There

  • Minibus from Shkodër

    The most common way to reach Theth National Park is by taking a minibus from Shkodër. Minibuses typically depart from near Hotel Rozafa around 7:00 AM and sometimes another one at 2:00 PM. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. The one-way fare is around 12 EUR. It's advisable to book in advance through your accommodation in Shkodër or directly with a transport company. Be prepared for a bumpy ride as the road is unpaved in sections.

  • Taxi from Shkodër

    A private 4x4 taxi from Shkodër to Theth costs around 90 EUR. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. Taxis offer more flexibility and comfort but are significantly more expensive than minibuses. Negotiate the price beforehand.

  • Car

    Driving to Theth requires a 4x4 vehicle due to the challenging road conditions. The journey from Tirana takes approximately 4 hours. From Shkoder, take the SH1 main road, then turn onto SH21 at Koplik. Be aware that the road is narrow and unpaved in sections. Parking is available in Theth. Car rentals average 20-25 EUR per day. Damage to the underside of the car is usually not covered by insurance.
