Shuttle Bus
The most common way to reach Trail View Overlook is via the free Hermit Road (Red) Route shuttle. From March 1st to November 30th, Hermit Road is closed to private vehicles, making the shuttle mandatory. You can board the Hermit Road Shuttle at the Hermit Road Shuttle Transfer Station, west of Bright Angel Lodge. The shuttle runs frequently, with stops at nine viewpoints along the way to Hermits Rest. Check the National Park Service website for the most up-to-date schedule. There is no cost for the shuttle; it is included with your park entrance fee.

If you're already in the Grand Canyon Village area, you can walk to Trail View Overlook along the Canyon Rim Trail. The trail is mostly level and offers stunning views along the way. From the shuttle bus transfer station, it's approximately 0.7 miles (1.1 km) to Trail View Overlook. Follow the paved path west, enjoying the scenery as you go. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
