Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, head southwest on Village Loop Drive toward the South Rim. Continue walking along this paved path for about 0.5 miles until you reach the shuttle bus stop for the Hermit’s Rest route. After reaching the stop, take the Hermit’s Rest shuttle bus (Route Red) which runs frequently. Ride the bus for approximately 20 minutes and disembark at the Maricopa Point stop. Follow the short trail from the bus stop to reach the viewpoint.

    If you're renting a bike in Grand Canyon Village, start from the Village Bike Rentals. Head south on the bike path leading to Hermit Road. Continue biking along Hermit Road for about 2 miles. You will pass several scenic overlooks; keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Maricopa Point. Once you reach the Maricopa Point parking area, lock your bike and walk a short distance to the viewpoint.
