If driving from Grand Canyon Village, head east on Desert View Drive (Highway 64) for approximately 7 miles. There is ample parking available at the viewpoint. Parking is free.

Take the free South Rim shuttle. The closest shuttle stop to Duck on a Rock is Pipe Creek Vista, about 3 miles away. From there, it's a 3-mile walk to the viewpoint. Shuttle service is included with your park entrance fees. Check the current shuttle schedule for the most up-to-date information.

Walking
If you are in Grand Canyon Village, you can access Duck on a Rock Viewpoint via the Rim Trail. Start your hike from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and follow the Rim Trail east. The Duck on a Rock Trail begins on the far right side of the parking lot and overlook, where hikers will find an unmarked trail leading up the hill, along the edge of the canyon. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water.
