    To reach the Petrified Forest National Wilderness Area, navigate to Petrified Forest National Park. The park has two entrances: one off I-40 (Exit 311 for westbound travelers, Exit 285 via Highway 180 for eastbound) and another from Highway 180. Once inside the park, access to the wilderness area is available from various points along the 28-mile scenic drive. Be aware that some areas may have limited parking. The entrance fee to the park is $25 per vehicle, valid for seven days. An annual park pass is available for $45. Remember, credit or debit cards are the only accepted forms of payment at the entrance.

Backcountry hiking is permitted with a free permit, offering solitude and adventure amidst colorful sunsets, inspiring sunrises, and incredible night skies.
