Parking is available at trailheads and recreation areas, though availability may be limited during peak seasons. A Forest Day Use Pass ($25) may be required for certain day-use areas. While there's no direct public transportation to the heart of the Ouachita National Forest, you can take a bus to nearby towns like Hot Springs or Mena, AR. From there, you can rent a car, use a taxi service, or arrange a shuttle to reach the forest. Greyhound provides service to Hot Springs. From Texarkana, bus routes operated by Jefferson Lines will take you to Mena. A taxi from Sulphur Springs to Paris costs $150-$258.
