Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by heading southeast on AR-27 S from any location in Lake Ouachita. Continue on AR-27 S for approximately 10 miles. You will pass through scenic areas along the lake. After about 10 miles, you will reach the junction with AR-298. Turn left onto AR-298 E and continue for about 4 miles. Look for signs indicating Pencil Bluff, and then turn right onto Ouachita River Haven Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at Ouachita River Haven, located at 122 Ouachita River Haven Rd, Pencil Bluff, AR 71965.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from Hot Springs to Pencil Bluff. The nearest major bus station is the Hot Springs Bus Station. Check the local bus schedules as they may vary, but typically there is a service that connects Hot Springs to Pencil Bluff. Once you arrive in Pencil Bluff, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to Ouachita River Haven, which is about 5 miles away from the bus drop-off location. Be sure to check for any taxi services in advance as options might be limited.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Lake Ouachita and take the following route: Start on AR-27 S and bike for about 10 miles until you reach AR-298 E. Turn left and continue for another 4 miles. Then turn right onto Ouachita River Haven Rd. Please ensure you have proper cycling gear and check your bike mechanics before heading out, as some parts of the route may be hilly.

• Walking

  Walking to Ouachita River Haven is not recommended due to the distance and lack of pedestrian pathways. However, if you are nearby, you can take a scenic walk along the riverbank. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have a map or GPS device for navigation.
