Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within the Ouachita National Forest, start by locating your position on the nearest road. Head towards Mount Ida, Arkansas. Use GPS navigation and input the campground address: 119 Ouachita Shores Pkwy, Mt Ida, AR 71957. Follow the directions provided by your GPS. Once you are close to Mount Ida, look for signs directing you to Lake Ouachita State Park. Take the exit for Ouachita Shores Parkway, and the Denby Point Campground will be on your right side after about half a mile.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take a Greyhound or regional bus service to the closest town, which is Mount Ida, Arkansas. From Mount Ida, you will need to arrange for a local taxi service or rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Denby Point Campground at 119 Ouachita Shores Pkwy, which is approximately 10 miles from the bus station. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous traveler, cycling is an option if you're already in the vicinity of the Ouachita National Forest. Start from the center of Mount Ida and head west on Highway 270. After about 4 miles, turn onto Ouachita Shores Parkway. Continue straight for approximately 6 miles, and you will find Denby Point Campground on your left. Be sure to wear a helmet and have proper cycling gear, as the roads can be busy.

• Walking

  If you are already nearby and prefer to walk, make sure you are equipped with a good map of the area as walking routes might not be well-marked. From the closest point in the Ouachita National Forest, head towards Ouachita Shores Parkway. Follow the road signs to Denby Point Campground, which is approximately a 3-mile walk from the nearest hiking trails. Be prepared for potential uneven terrain and ensure you have comfortable walking shoes.
