Discover more about Glory Hole Falls

Glory Hole Falls is a distinctive natural attraction nestled within the Ozark National Forest in northern Arkansas. Unlike typical waterfalls that cascade over rock faces, Glory Hole Falls flows through a hole carved into the top of a bluff, creating a mesmerizing spectacle as water plummets into the cavern below. The waterfall is formed by Dismal Creek, which has gradually eroded a hole through the limestone overhanging a bluff. The result is a 31-foot drop through a nearly perfect circle in the rock, offering a unique sight, especially after heavy rainfall or during winter when the falls freeze into an impressive ice column. The hike to Glory Hole Falls is a moderate 2-mile round trip. The trail, once an old ATV road, descends steadily, eventually meeting Dismal Creek. Along the way, hikers can enjoy the surrounding forest and smaller cascades. The path can be slippery near the falls, so caution is advised. Exploring the creek bed below the falls reveals the full scale of the grotto and the power of the water that shaped it.
