The Paruyr Sevak House-Museum, located in the village of Zangakatun, is dedicated to the life and work of the renowned Armenian poet, translator, and literary critic, Paruyr Sevak. Born Paruyr Ghazaryan in 1924, Sevak is considered one of the greatest Armenian poets of the 20th century. The museum offers a unique glimpse into his world, showcasing personal artifacts, documents, manuscripts, and photographs. The museum complex was designed by architect Jim Torosyan, envisioned with exhibition halls, a lobby, a chapel-bell tower, and an amphitheater. However, only part of the project was realized, with the lobby now serving as the main museum space. A prominent feature is the fresco by artist Sarkis Muradyan, depicting Sevak's life alongside his contemporaries. Paruyr Sevak and his wife, Nelly Menagarishvili, tragically died in a car accident in 1971. In accordance with his will, they are buried in the garden he cultivated, under his father's apricot tree, adding a deeply personal and poignant dimension to the museum.
