Car
From Shirak, take the M1 highway heading southeast towards Gyumri. Continue on M1 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Artik. Once in Artik, follow the signs to Başkənd. After about 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Başkənd gölü. Follow the road leading towards the lake, which will take you through scenic mountainous terrain. Parking is available near the lake.

Public Transportation
From the center of Shirak, head to the main bus station. Look for a minibus heading towards Artik. The fare is approximately 300 AMD (Armenian Dram). The minibus will take you to Artik in about 30 minutes. Once in Artik, take a taxi to Başkənd gölü, which should cost around 1000-1500 AMD. Be sure to communicate your destination clearly to the driver. The taxi ride will take about 10-15 minutes.

Walking from Başkənd Village
If you find yourself in the village of Başkənd after taking a taxi, you can walk to Başkənd gölü. The lake is approximately 2 kilometers from the village center. Head south from the village, following the dirt paths that lead through the hills. The scenic walk will take around 30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
