Start from the central square of Aparan, near the statue of the local hero. Head south on Tigran Mets Avenue. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the crossroads at the intersection with the road to Aghdzk. Turn left onto this road. Walk for approximately 3 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the way. As you approach the outskirts of Aparan, keep an eye out for signs that indicate the way to Tavush fortress. Follow the signs, which will lead you through a small trail into the hills. The fortress is located approximately 1 kilometer from the main road. The trail is well-marked, but wear good walking shoes as the terrain can be uneven.

If you have access to a bicycle, start at the central square of Aparan. Ride south on Tigran Mets Avenue for about 1 kilometer. At the crossroads where you see the signs for Aghdzk, take a left turn. This road is quite scenic and will take you through beautiful landscapes. After biking about 3 kilometers, look out for signs indicating Tavush fortress. The road may start to incline slightly, and you will notice a trail leading off the main road. Follow that trail for about 1 kilometer until you reach the fortress.

For a more adventurous route, you can hike from Aparan. Begin at the central square and head south on Tigran Mets Avenue. After about 1 kilometer, take a left turn at the crossroads onto the road towards Aghdzk. Continue walking for about 3 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road where Tavush fortress is indicated. There will be a small trail leading up to the fortress; this part may require some climbing, so ensure that you are prepared with adequate hiking gear and water. The hike should take approximately 1 hour depending on your fitness level.
