Getting There

  • Driving

    From Khancoban, turn south onto Alpine Way and travel for 20km until you reach the signposted turn-off for 'Scammells Ridge Lookout'. From Jindabyne, travel west along Kosciuszko Road for 3km and turn left onto Alpine Way. Continue along Alpine Way for 90km, and turn left at the turn-off signposted 'Scammells Ridge lookout'. The lookout is easily accessed via a sealed road that leads to a public car park. Note that park entry fees apply on Alpine Way. From June to October long weekends, the winter fee is $29 per vehicle per day. For the rest of the year, the fee is $17 per vehicle per day. Passes can be purchased from the Khancoban Visitor Centre or via the Park'nPay app.

    Take a bus from Jindabyne or Thredbo to Geehi. From the bus stop in Geehi, walk approximately 3km south along the Alpine Way to reach Scammells Ridge Lookout. Check bus schedules in advance as services may be limited. Park entry fees apply on Alpine Way. From June to October long weekends, the winter fee is $29 per vehicle per day. For the rest of the year, the fee is $17 per vehicle per day. Bus passengers during the winter pay $11.45 per adult and $3.60 per child per day. For the rest of the year, the fee is $6.60 per adult and $2.20 per child per day.
