From Salzburg, make your way to the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Once there, look for the bus terminal located just outside the train station. Board the bus line 840 towards Berchtesgaden. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand as it may vary. Get off at the 'Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden' stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the picturesque Hintersee. Follow the signs to the lake, which will guide you along the scenic paths.

Start at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof and take a train to Berchtesgaden. Look for the regional trains heading to Berchtesgaden, which usually depart every hour. The train ride takes roughly 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Berchtesgaden, exit the train station and head to the bus terminal located right next to it. Board bus line 841, which will take you directly to 'Hintersee.' This bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive, you will be at the beautiful Hintersee, ready to explore the area.
