Originally built between 1660 and 1680 by Prince Archbishop Max Gandolf as a summer manor called Schloss Grafenau, it later passed to the Counts of Frohnberg, who gave it its current name. Despite not having any actual connection to the Trapp family, it remains a popular site for fans of the movie.
