Getting There

Walking
Start your journey at the National Memorial Chorten in Thimphu. From the Chorten, head west along Chorten Lam until you reach the intersection with Norzin Lam. Turn left onto Norzin Lam and continue straight. After about 400 meters, you will see the Thimphu-Punakha Highway ahead. Cross the highway and take the path leading to the right, which will guide you toward the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choeten. Follow this path for approximately 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. The Choeten is located on a hilltop overlooking the Punakha Valley, so expect a bit of an uphill trek as you approach.

If you are starting from the Tashichho Dzong, exit the Dzong and walk towards the main road. Turn left on the main road and walk towards the National Memorial Chorten. Follow the previous instructions from the Chorten to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choeten.

From the Clock Tower Square, walk north along the main street, passing the Royal Textile Academy. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Norzin Lam. Turn right onto Norzin Lam, and walk towards the Thimphu-Punakha Highway. Cross the highway, and take the path to the right towards Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choeten.
