Getting There

  • Car

    From Punakha town, head north on the main road towards Wangdue Phodrang. After about 10 km, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork, which will lead you towards Talo village. Follow the winding road for approximately 5 km until you reach Talo Goenpa, which will be on your right side. There is parking available near the monastery.

  • Public Transportation

    From the main bus terminal in Punakha, you can take a local bus or shared taxi heading to Wangdue Phodrang. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Talo village. The bus will drop you off at the village, which is about 5 km from the monastery. From there, you can either walk to Talo Goenpa, which will take around 1 hour on foot, or you can hire a local taxi from Talo village to the monastery, which should cost around 50-100 Ngultrum depending on negotiation.
