Getting There

  • Walking

    From the heart of Lapa, head east on Rua da Lapa towards the large white arches of the Arcos da Lapa. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Rio Branco. Turn left onto Avenida Rio Branco and walk for about 10 minutes. As you walk, keep an eye out for the beautiful buildings along the way. You will eventually reach the intersection with Avenida República do Chile. Turn right at this intersection, and the Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião will be on your left at Av. República do Chile, 245.

    If you prefer to take a bus, from Lapa, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Avenida Mem de Sá. Look for buses heading towards Centro.
