Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by entering the Serra dos Órgãos National Park via the main entrance on BR-116. Once inside, follow the signs towards Teresópolis. Continue on the road until you reach the intersection with Rod. Santos Dumont (RJ-130). Turn onto Rod. Santos Dumont and drive approximately 10 km. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing to Elephant Stone (Pedra do Elefante). Once you arrive at the address: Rod. Santos Dumont, 1275 - Jardim Meudon, Teresópolis - RJ, park your vehicle in the designated area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Rio de Janeiro to Teresópolis. Several bus companies operate this route, and you can catch a bus from the Novo Rio Bus Station. The journey takes about 2-3 hours and costs around R$40-50. Once you arrive in Teresópolis, head to the local bus terminal and catch a bus heading towards Jardim Meudon. Inform the driver you wish to visit Pedra do Elefante. The bus ride should take about 30 minutes. Disembark at the nearest stop to the attraction and walk approximately 1 km to reach Elephant Stone.

• Hiking

  If you are an adventurous traveler and wish to hike, from the main park entrance, take the main trail that leads into the heart of Serra dos Órgãos National Park. Follow the trail signs leading to Pedra do Elefante. The hike is moderately challenging and will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks. Be mindful of the time, as it may be unsafe to hike back after dark.
