From any location in Berkeley, head to the nearest BART station, either Downtown Berkeley or North Berkeley. Purchase a ticket to the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. Board a train heading towards San Francisco International Airport or Millbrae and get off at the Embarcadero station. Once you exit the BART station, follow signs for the Ferry Building, which is about a 10-minute walk. Head southeast on Market Street, then turn right onto The Embarcadero. Continue straight until you reach the Ferry Building at 1 Ferry Plaza.

AC Transit Bus
Locate the nearest AC Transit bus stop in Berkeley. Take either the 1, 7, or 51 line towards San Francisco. Ride the bus until you reach the Transbay Terminal in downtown San Francisco. From the Transbay Terminal, you can either walk to the Ferry Building, which is about a 15-minute walk southeast along Howard Street, or take the F-Market Streetcar line from the nearby stop at Folsom and Spear to the Ferry Building stop.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start from the downtown area of Berkeley and head towards the San Francisco Bay Trail. Follow the trail along the waterfront, which will lead you towards the Bay Bridge. Upon reaching the bridge, take the designated bike path across the bridge into San Francisco. Once you arrive in San Francisco, bike along the Embarcadero until you reach the Ferry Building at 1 Ferry Plaza.

If you are located near the Berkeley waterfront, you can enjoy a scenic walk along the waterfront towards the South. Head towards the Marina and then follow the shoreline path towards the East Bay, eventually leading you towards the Bay Bridge. Once you reach the base of the bridge, follow the path leading into the city. As you near the Ferry Building, continue along The Embarcadero until you reach the building at 1 Ferry Plaza.
