Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey in Carmel-by-the-Sea at Ocean Avenue, the main street. Head east on Ocean Avenue until you reach San Carlos Street. Turn left onto San Carlos Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with 5th Avenue. At this point, turn right onto 5th Avenue. Continue walking straight, and you will pass several shops and cafés. Eventually, 5th Avenue will lead you directly to the coast. As you reach the coast, you will find the Scenic Pathway; follow this path south towards Monterey. Enjoy the picturesque views as you walk along the coastline and through the parks. This scenic route will take you all the way to Cannery Row in Monterey. Once you reach Cannery Row, continue walking until you see the intersection with Custom House Plaza. Turn left on Custom House Plaza, and Monterey State Historic Park will be on your right at 20 Custom House Plaza, Monterey, CA 93940.
