Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Fresno, take CA-99 South towards Bakersfield. After about 50 miles, take exit 79 for CA-43 South towards Delano. Continue on CA-43 South for approximately 20 miles until you reach Earlimart. Turn left onto Grant Drive, and the park will be on your right side. The drive will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

  From Bakersfield, head north on CA-99 North. Take exit 64B for CA-43 North towards Delano. Stay on CA-43 North for about 30 miles, then turn right onto Grant Drive. Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park will be on your right. This route will take you about 40 minutes.

• Public Transportation

  Unfortunately, there are limited public transportation options directly to Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park. However, you can take the Greyhound bus from various locations in Central California to Delano. Once you arrive in Delano, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 12 miles to the park, as public transit options are sparse in this area. Be sure to check the Greyhound schedule in advance, as service may vary.

• Car

  If you are coming from the south (like from Los Angeles), take I-5 North. Merge onto CA-99 North towards Bakersfield. From there, follow the directions from Bakersfield to the park as previously described. This route will take you approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Car

  For those traveling from Visalia, take CA-198 West to CA-99 South. Continue on CA-99 South and follow the earlier directions toward Earlimart. This will take around 45 minutes. Make sure to check the park's hours of operation before your visit, as it is open from 10 AM to 4 PM daily.
